Committees

Pool Committee

Committee Chair: Warren Barlow
Contact: hoawaldenpreserve@gmail.com

Responsible for ensuring the contractors hired for pool upkeep are fulfilling their contract responsibilities and are performing their duties according to the standards set by the HOA. The Pool Committee is responsible for distribution of facility keys to homeowners and revocation of pool privileges, if required. Finally, the Pool Committee is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and smooth operation of the pool.

If a fecal incident occurs, pool closure is necessary for proper disinfection and for protection of the health and safety of swimmers.

ANY Walden Preserve member responsible will be fined and incur all costs for proper disinfection and decontamination of the pool/water.  To learn more about why this is so important, read the CDC report on Fecal Accidents and E-Coli.

Covenants/Architectural Review Committee

Committee Chair: Dwayne Pence

The Covenants Review Committee is responsible for ensuring homeowners adhere to the Protective Covenants established for the community. In addition, the committee notes violations of the Covenants and follows the procedures outlined in the Protective Covenants and Bylaws to notify the homeowner committing the violation.

Requesting Architectural Changes

CRC concurrence is required for any modifications to the exterior of the home (including yard and landscaping). If a homeowner desires to make any such changes, the homeowner should email a request to the Committee with the following information:

  1. Description of the proposed modification

  2. Rendering/drawing showing how the final modification will look

  3. Statement that the materials to be used will be the same as those used in the original home construction (e.g., siding color, brick color, shingle color, etc.)

(This list is not all-inclusive, and homeowners should send any further pertinent information deemed necessary.)

For fences, the application should also include:

  1. If tying onto existing brick columns, a signed letter from the neighbors granting permission to do so

  2. Number of brick columns

  3. Stain color (Approved Colors)

The approval process usually takes less than five (5) business days from start to finish, though it can take longer if extra information is required by the CRC to make an informed decision.

If the request is denied, the homeowner may appeal the decision to the HOA Board. Any ruling by the HOA Board will be considered final.
